SUPER BOWL XLVI

On Sunday, January 5th 2012 at 8:00pm Super Bowl XLVI(46) will be underway. The epic rematch of Superbowl XLII(42) where the New England Patriots lost 17-14 to the New York Giants after Eli Manning's game winning touchdown pass to Plaxico Burress (current Jet (booo!)). It was a tragic, heartbreaking loss to end the Patriots' record breaking 16-0 perfect  season. The Patriots will have some advantages from the last time including Burress left and additions Patrick Chung, Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez, Jerod Mayo and many more. The Patriots will have to put up points against the Giants defense as well as stopping the deep ball (stopping Victor Cruz, Mario Manningham and Hakkem Nicks). Running backs Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs will be a problem without Andre Carter (but we stopped Ray Rice). Using the tight ends to create mismatches and protecting Tom Brady (we stopped Ray Lewis, Haloti Ngata and Terrell Suggs) will be a key part to putting up lots of points. " Yeah, it's [definitely] set in." Welker said on the super bowl atmosphere. Go patriots!!!!!!!!!

The Asian black bear also known as the moon bear or white-chested bear is a medium-sized species of bear, largely adapted for arboreal life, which occurs through much of southern Asia, Korea, northeastern China, the Russian far east and Honshū and Shikoku islands of Japan. It is classed by the IUCN as a vulnerable species, mostly due to deforestation and active hunting for its body parts. The species is morphologically very similar to some prehistoric bears, and is thought by some scientists to be the ancestor of other extant bear species. Though largely herbivorous, Asian black bears can be very aggressive toward humans, and have frequently attacked people without provocation. The species was described by Rudyard Kipling as "the most bizarre of the ursine species.

Club Penguin

Club penguin is a computer game on miniclip. It is very interesting and very fun. There are about 30 games on club penguin. It doesn't cost money to sign up but when you are signed up you can buy a membership and that will cost money. You can design your penguin however you want and it can look so cool! I think the card-jistu battles are the most fun thing in the club penguin world!

Tom Brady and the Patriots

The New England Patriots has set the world record for the NFL championships. Some of the players include Wes Welker, Rob Gronkowski, Tom Brady and Benjarvus Green Ellis. This year they beat the Ravens 23-20 and are heading for the Super Bowl,which is held in Indianapolis.
Tom Brady number 12 plays QB for the New England  Patriots he has done a lot of amazing throws to his teammates.

Symmetry

In maths year 3 are learning about symmetry so today on the internet we saw some flags and figured out if they were symmetrycal or not. Most of them were like the Finland flag wich had one line of symmetry. If you think that the American flag is symmetrycal you are right inone way if you are dealing with the stars only. The British flag is not symmetrycal because the white lines or on different sides in top to bottom. The Hong Kong flag is not symmetrycal because the flower shape in the middle goes a different way so that it lookes like each half of the flower is going a different way if it was moving

AFC Win The Pro Bowl

On Sunday January 29th 2012 The International Pro Bowl was Held in Hawaii, after losing last year the AFC team managed to pull off a win 59-42 against the NFC the quaterbacks for the teams were Arron Rogers, Drew Brees, Cam Newton, T.J Yates, Andy Dolton, Pilip Rivers and Ben Rothlesburger, Cam Newton threw two interceptions and A.J Green fumbled the ball near the endzone.

I loved this Years' Pro and I can't wait for the next one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rob Gronkowski

Rob Gronkowski is an awsome guy on the Pats! He scored more than 3 touchdowns aganist the Broncos. He is number 87. He was born on May 14th 1989.
Gronkowski owns a number of NFL tight end scoring and receiving records, including the single-season records for tight ends for most receiving touchdowns (17), most total touchdowns (18), and most receiving yards (1,327), all set in 2011.

Pats ride Ravens to Super bowl XLVI

On January 22nd 2012, the Patriots beat the Ravens 23-20! In the epic AFC championship, the game was ended when Ravens kicker Billy Cundiff MISSED a 32 yard, game tying field goal with 11 seconds left. The lead was taken when QB Tom Brady had a 1 yard leap into the end zone. The Ravens two attempts on their last drive to win were both broken up by Sterling Moore. The first was a sure touchdown to Lee Evans which was stripped out of his hands by Moore and the second Moore tipped away. Another great performance came from Rob Gronkowski who lead the Pats in yards as well as having great catches and yards after the catch. He had an ankle injury for a bit of the game but returned to the game to make the game winning block. BenJarvus Green-Ellis had a big running game of 68 yards including a 7 yard TD run. Brandon Spikes stepped up to get an interception to stop the game winning pass as well as Vince Wilfork having a couple of big run stops and a couple sacks! James Ihedibo had a sack to stop Ravens QB Joe Flacco from throwing a deep pass to make a big play. Devin McCourty was beaten by Ravens WR Torrey Smith a couple of times and Smith also ended up with a TD but the Patriots were lucky he didn't get more. The Patriots did a good job making sure Anquan Boldin (thank god he wasn't covered by Antwaun Molden) and Ray Rice didn't get big games in the match. Rice was contained by Wilfork and defensive end Sean Ellis. The Patriots will need to play better to beat the New York Giants, but I think they will win. GO PATS!!!!!!!!!!    

The Erupiton of MT Vesuvius

 In 79ad a volcano called MT Vesuvius blew up and covered Pompeii and Herculaneum.
The top of the Volcano flew up to 20km high. All the ash and gases that came from the volcano had killed lots of people instently. Some people thought that they would be able to hide from the explotion but anybody in Pompeii or Herculaneum would have dide.

The ash from the volcano went up to 6m high, compltly distroying the two places.
A cople days after the eruption it had rained, that made the ash that covered the two places harden and
make it like syment.

Pompeii and Herculaneum wasn't discoved agian until about1,000 years later.

CAKE BOSS!!!

cake boss is a really awesome television show about Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken, new Jersey. They make awesome cakes that are really, really, cool.
Once they made a cake the size of a racecar and it even had a cake engine! And they also made a mechanical bull cake that actually moved! They also made a transformers cake that wwas bumblebee and it even had flapping winggs and flares coming from his hands and lights in his eyes and it was soooooooooooooooooooooo cool! They also once made a toilet cake that actually flushed and a train cake with moving trains coming through it! They Make giant cakes! in one episode a bride didn't like her cake so she destroyed it and they also made a giant flip flop cake that fed 4000 people! the channel that you can watch it on is TLC. You can also find it on the instant queue on netflix.

Beards

Beards are these blobs of hair that are kind of like cousins to moustaches that also grow on mens' faces. But they can also grow on womens' faces but it is very, VERY rare. When they grow on mens' faces, and the man have a child, the beard can probably scratch the child. So make sure your dad shaves his beard! The child can also pull and even push on the beard which can hurt A LOT! Beards can be cut and shaped into many different shapes and sizes, just like moustaches. There can even be swirly and curly ones (that is kind of cool...). There are lots of different colors of beards such as red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink and even RAINBOW! They can dye their beard to be the same color as their moustache (if they have any) and they can also dye their hair the same color so they can be a blob of rainbow!

On January 22nd 2012, the Patriots beat the Ravens 23-20! Ice Chip's!!!!!!

Ice Chip's is a ice skating show at the Harvard ice rink. They do it every year with star's that skate all over the world. The show is in march. Two people from British school of boston is going to be in the show. It's all about having fun and enjoing yourself. Some of the members in The Skating Club of Boston are doing Ice Chips and Jason Wang is helping corigraph the show.

Dr. Who Club

Dr. Who club is a club at BSB! It is a club were we watch movies about Dr. Who. It is great and sometimes scary. Dr. Who is a person who changes and has a teleporter. He travels all the time. I think it should be rated as 5 stars. There are about 100 episodes and they are all differently themed.

Year 3 Visit

A staff member from the Science Museum came to tell year 3 all about dinosaurs and showed us that three layers of mud covered the fossils. Rain dropped for several years and uncovered the fossils. Then we got in to groups and tried to figure out what a fossil we were given was and what it felt like and the same with footprints.

Iker Cassillas was born 20 May 1981, he plays for REAL MADRID and the SPANISH NATIONAL team. As we all know he is one of the greatest goalkeeper of all time.

Real Madrid  is awsome! They have the awsome Ronaldo, Pepe, and Marcelo. Ronaldo is way better than Messi! Someone from Barcelona called David Villa is going to Real Madrid. Is that awsome?

Moustaches

Moustaches are just these blobs of hair that grow on mens' faces. They can sometimes grow on womens' faces but it is not very cool (even though if they do they can probably yank it off!) Some moustaches are fluffy but some can scratch you (that must be really annoying!). Some can even make you itch (now that is just plain annoying!) Moustaches can be formed in all shapes and sizes, some can even come swirly (whoa, that's cool). There are also a lot of different colors with moustaches such as brown, black and even ginger. The colors of the moustache depends on the color of the persons hair even though the person might dye their hair a different color. If they DO dye their hair another color then if they have a moustache it will NOT usually be the same color UNLESS they dye their moustache the same color OR they can dye their moustache a different color from their hair so they will look very colorful!!!

OR they can dye their moustache lots of different colors AND they can dye their regular hair lots of different colors AND then they can sit on a cloud AND they will be the rainbow facial hair.

This is so awesome!!!

Patriots!

New England Patriots are a awesome American football team. In 2011-2012 they made it to the NFL playoffs they made it in first seed! All they have to do is beat Baltimore Ravens and they make it to the Super Bowl! They play 16 matches a year and this season their record was 13 and 3. They lost against Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Stealer's and New York Giants. But they still won against the another 13 teams. In my opinion, they are the best team out of the 32 teams.

Miss Yeardly's dance club!!!!!!

Miss Yeardly's dance club started the 10th of January on a Tuesday. Round and round by Selena Gomez is the song they are dancing to. They are doing moden jas as the dance. Modern dancing started around the 20th centry. Modern Dance has varied roots but there are a fewkey people who are generally considered to be the first modern dances (Martha Graham, Doris Humphrey, Charles Wideman, and Hanya Holm)). The main predessesors to them were Isadora Duncan who did "barefoot dancing", Ruth St.Dennis (and Ted Shawn) who did character dance pagents, and Loie Fuller who was in vaudeville. In many ways Modern dance was a rebellion against Ballet. There were interested in the potential for the body to express something other than beauty like the ballet.  They were also exploring the potential in the body for dance movement (basically less strict posture allowing for more varied movement)

Patriots Dominate

On January 14th the New England Patriots beat the Denver Broncos 45-10! The playoff blowout set many records including most TD catches, most TD passes and biggest postseason win ever! Rob Gronkowski(87)   had a great game and set many records. The Patriots will continue and play the Baltimore Ravens at home on January 21st. Go Pats!

Year 4's Trip To The Science Mesuem

BSB

Our school has an amazing blog club which is an after school club.

Lower classes get two playtimes a day (maybe three). On our field for second grade to sixth grade, when they are having playtime medium sized turkeys run across the field. We have lessons like English, Maths, Computer Work and Handwriting also known as Letter Formation. Each lesson is thirty to forty minutes long.

BSB Blog Club

At BSB there is a blog club. In the blog club, the children create either blogs or podcasts. They create a blog by going on to this website and thinking of ideas about something to write about. They create a podcast by again, thinking of an idea to talk about but they type a script on a word document instead of the blog page. Then (the following week) they record it and post it on the website. Afterwards they can go onto the website and see what amazing creations they have made! They can show anyone they want and anyone can look at it on the internet. Like their parents, babysitter, sibling or any other guardian. They can also comment on their work.

Soccer Club

Soccer club is a club at BSB. It is usually led by Mr.Langley. It is really fun & interesting.

Miss O Hare's singing club

Miss O Hare's singing club is mostly for boys but girls can join too. It started today (January10th).  Some of the boys who didn't join singing club decided to join blog club instead.

Barcelona

 Barcelona is a soccer ( football ) club that are very good. Some of the players are Messi , and David Villa.

Tutankhamun Discovery

In 1922 British egyptologist Howard Carter stumbled on an amazing discovery. A forgotten tomb of a young pharaoh that had died a mysterious death. When he had fully excavated the tomb he found that many ancient artifacts were left inside the tomb. On the coffin of the dead pharaoh he saw a seal that read "Tutankhamen"

Basketball Club

Resently, Basketball Club for BSB has turned into a BSB basketball Team(for years 7-9) BSB play against other schools for fun and the love of basketball, Mr.Langley runs basketball club in the Gym and it's from Years 5-6, the club goes every Monday and Wednesday from 3:30-4:30.
